Charleston Ketamine Center offers advanced ketamine infusion therapy for patients living with debilitating chronic nerve pain. This includes those diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy, sciatica, and Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS). We typically recommend a 4-hour infusion on four consecutive days and then reassess the patient’s progress. As long as the patient is improving with each treatment, we continue with daily 4-hour infusions until the benefit plateaus. Most patients require five to eight infusions. After this, in order to prolong the benefit of the infusions, we prescribe daily at home ketamine. The duration of benefit varies greatly between patients. If the patient returns as soon as the pain begins to return or worsen, a single infusion is usually adequate to restore them to the improvement they achieved with the initial series.

Ketamine for CRPS and Chronic Pain
For patients living with chronic pain that hasn’t responded to conventional treatment, ketamine works differently than anything you’ve likely tried. Rather than masking symptoms, ketamine targets the receptors responsible for pain sensitization and the neurological amplification that keeps the nervous system stuck in a cycle of chronic pain.
Ketamine for Migraines
Chronic migraines—defined as 15 or more headache days per month—can severely limit your ability to function. Many patients cycle through multiple medications with limited success. Research has shown that ketamine, particularly IV infusions, may help those who have not found relief with standard treatments.
Ketamine acts as a central nervous system modulator, dampening overactive pain pathways and reducing inflammation associated with migraine onset. It can be especially effective in cases where migraines are accompanied by central sensitization or medication overuse headaches.
Some benefits patients have experienced include:
- Fewer migraine days per month
- Shorter duration and intensity of attacks
- Decreased reliance on oral medications
- Improved mental clarity and energy
Our team will assess your migraine history and design an infusion protocol aimed at breaking the cycle and preventing future episodes.
What to Expect
Infusions for chronic pain or migraine are typically longer in duration, with initial sessions lasting up to four hours. These may be administered over several consecutive days to reset the body’s pain response. We closely monitor your vitals and response during each session to ensure your safety and comfort.
Cost and Financing
Pain infusions are $850 per four-hour session. Flexible financing is available through Advance Care and CareCredit. If pain is interfering with your ability to enjoy life or perform daily tasks, ketamine may offer a new path forward.
